What do you need to prepare when you first start selling on Amazon?

If you are an experienced merchant doing Amazon business, then at least when you open a store in the early stage, you will know what you want to do. At least you know a little about product selection and operation. So what do you need to prepare when you first start doing Amazon business?

1. Create an account

When registering an Amazon account, sellers need to provide Amazon with some information, including:

•credit card

•telephone number

•Company registration details

• Primary contact information

• Company owner information

•Bank account information

2. Personal account or corporate account?

If you have not created a company, you can also register a personal account. The information that the seller needs to provide will vary depending on the account type.

3. Apply for the Professional Seller Program

For sellers who sell more than 30 products per month, the Professional Seller Plan will be more affordable than the Individual Seller Plan and will also provide more features. In the UK, the Professional Seller Plan costs £25 per month.

4. Create product listings

The process of creating a product listing is relatively simple. All the seller needs to do is fill in the product identification code, including UPC, GTIN or ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number). Then enter the logistics details, price and the inventory quantity you want to provide. Sellers can use the product identification code to search the category catalog where the product is located, or perform a keyword search.

If a product is not in a category catalog, then you will need to create a product listing, but most products are in category catalogs.

5. Bulk upload listings and Amazon tools

As your business grows and the number of products you sell increases, you need to reduce the manual process in managing your product listings. You can find a variety of Amazon tools in the Amazon Seller Central dashboard that can help you easily upload and edit listings in bulk. In addition, sellers can also use some third-party tools.

In Seller Central, there are also tools that can help you analyze sales, assist with accounting, and provide you with guidance on market trends.

6. Sponsored Products

When you start selling products on Amazon, Sponsored Products ads may help you get early sales. It is a lot like Google Adwords, where sellers can pay and bid for keywords and highlight the products you sell.

Generally speaking, when you first start selling on Amazon, you need to create an account, select products, and create product listings. The next step is to upload products and place advertisements.
