How is Amazon tax refund calculated? What requirements need to be met?

Whether it is imported products or exported products, as long as it involves products from different countries, certain taxes will be incurred. Therefore, both sellers and buyers will be involved in tax refunds. Moreover, the tax refund process for sellers and buyers is different. How is Amazon's tax refund calculated?

How to calculate Amazon tax refund?

Amazon sellers can apply for tax refunds mainly for export taxes. According to national regulations, sellers can apply for tax refunds only if they meet the following three conditions:

FBA first leg (sea/air/express delivery)

Overseas warehouse delivery (sea/air/express)

International Express Delivery

Export products must also meet the following conditions:

1. The goods must be subject to VAT and consumption tax;

2. Goods that must be declared for departure and export;

3. Goods that are financially processed as export sales;

4. Goods for which exchange has been collected and written off.

As long as the products in the store meet the requirements, the seller can prepare the export goods declaration form, tax refund summary application form and other tax refund vouchers as required, and fill in the relevant information in the export tax refund declaration system. After the application materials are initially reviewed, the declaration form will be printed out and bound to the tax refund voucher for formal declaration. The tax authorities will review and approve the tax refund to be handled by the treasury.

If the buyer wants to get a tax refund on the product purchased from Amazon, the seller must also cooperate in a timely manner. The specific process is as follows:

Buyers must first ensure that their products are tax-free before they can apply for a tax refund from the seller. After the buyer applies for a tax refund, the seller needs to select "Order Refund" - "Tax Refund Only" from the specific order details, and then select "Tax-free Buyers" or "Orders from Unincorporated Areas". For "Tax-free Buyers", you need to select the reason for the exemption; for "Orders from Unincorporated Areas", you need to select one or more jurisdictions for the refund; after doing this, you can submit the refund.

The tax refund process for Amazon sellers is relatively complicated. The main reason is that the product must meet the tax refund conditions and the corresponding materials must be prepared before applying. Although it is troublesome, if the tax refund is successful, you can save a lot of money.
