Amazon US FBA delivery fees add fuel and inflation surcharges

Amazon US FBA delivery fees add fuel and inflation surcharges

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Amazon has invested heavily in its sites and delivery operations to better support you and Amazon's customers. Amazon's delivery capacity has nearly doubled, adding more than 750,000 full-time and part-time jobs in the United States! These investments have brought huge growth to sellers, with site sales increasing by more than 70% during this period.

At the same time, like many businesses, Amazon is experiencing significant cost increases and is absorbing as much as possible to minimize the impact on its selling partners. But fuel, raw materials and inflation present further challenges to costs that are not going away anytime soon.

It is unclear how long these cost increases will last, so Amazon is for the first time applying surcharges rather than permanent fee changes - a mechanism widely used among supply chain service providers. In addition, Amazon is ensuring that the adjusted fees are still sufficiently competitive in the market.

1. Amazon Logistics Surcharge

Starting April 28, Amazon will implement a 5% fuel and inflation surcharge on top of the current per-unit rate for Amazon Logistics (FBA) fulfillment fees.

Amazon knows that changes to our fees can have a significant impact on your business. For this reason, Amazon has taken important steps to help you reduce costs with our recently announced fee reductions and offers!

2. Amazon Logistics New Product Warehousing Preferential Plan

Starting March 1, 2022, Amazon will provide 5% sales rebate (applicable to sellers who have completed Amazon Brand Registry) as well as free storage, free removal and free return processing for a specified number of eligible new Amazon Logistics parent ASINs within a specified time period.

3. $200 warehousing fee reduction for new sellers

New sellers who launch their first ASIN available for purchase on or after January 1, 2022

Amazon has launched a new seller entry package on March 1st!

New sellers who launch their first ASIN for purchase on or after January 1, 2022, and ship products to an Amazon fulfillment center within 12 months of launching their first ASIN for purchase, will receive a $100 discount on Amazon-partnered carrier fees or a $200 discount on Amazon fulfillment center delivery fees.

The fee adjustment time for each site is different. If there are relevant fee adjustments at other sites in the future, Amazon will notify the seller in a timely manner.

Thank you for your support. Amazon looks forward to continuing to work with you to bring customers more and better products and a first-class experience in 2022!
