How to calculate tariffs on Amazon US? What are they?

There are still many merchants doing business on Amazon's US site. Since the Amazon platform was originally developed in the United States, the market there is the most mature. However, if you run a US site store on Amazon, you must pay tariffs. How is this tariff calculated?

The taxes that Amazon US needs to pay are:

1. Federal Corporation Income Tax: Federal government corporate income tax, with a tax rate of 15~35%, reported once a year.

2.State Corporation In come Tax: State corporate income tax, the tax rate is 4.5~12%, and some states have a 0% tax rate.

3.Local Income Tax: Regional corporate income tax.

4. Sales Tax: Sales tax, paid by customers, e-commerce collects and pays social security on behalf of customers, the collection rate is 5.4~12%, and several states are 0% (for example: OR, DE, NH, MT).

5. Payroll Tax: Payroll tax is deducted from employees’ salaries and collected and paid by e-commerce companies on their behalf.

6.Busines Privilege Tax: Business service privilege tax, collected by local governments.

About estimated import taxes and fees:

Amazon Global Shopping will estimate and collect relevant import taxes and fees for customers when they place an order.

The consignee or payer is the importer and must comply with all Chinese laws and regulations. He or she may be required to pay import taxes and fees levied by China. When international shipments arrive in the recipient's country/region, the recipient may be required to pay the relevant import taxes and fees levied by that country/region.

Note: Product delivery time will be affected by the operating speed of US Customs and Chinese Customs. In case of holidays in both countries, delivery time will be delayed.

For overseas purchases you order shipped to countries outside the United States, we will estimate and collect the relevant import taxes and fees (referred to as "estimated import duties") for such goods. With your authorization, the shipping company or other agent will pay the import duties to the relevant authorities in China on your (or the recipient's) behalf. The importer is responsible for paying import taxes and fees, and such fees are levied based on the laws of the relevant country/region applicable to the shipped goods.

Estimated import duties and taxes are estimates of the taxes and taxes that may apply, not the actual amounts incurred. Customs regulations and rates applicable to specific goods may change between the date the import duties and taxes are estimated and the date the goods are actually taxed upon entry into China. The rate of import duties and taxes is usually determined by the classification of the goods, which varies by country and region.

The calculation of import taxes and fees follows the requirements and regulations of the customs of the country of destination. The customs of the country of destination usually calculates and determines the import taxes and fees based on the pre-promotion price and freight level of the goods.

This is the end of my sharing of the tariff calculation method for Amazon’s US site. It can be seen that there are many types of taxes that need to be paid for cross-border e-commerce, and the calculation method is also relatively complicated. Some of these taxes do not need to be paid if the tax payment conditions are not met, so you need to understand this clearly.
