1. What is the standard for collecting deposit from Shopee sellers?

Target audience: All Chinese cross-border sellers on the Shopee platform (excluding sellers in Hong Kong, China and sellers who have been notified by Shopee to enjoy exemption policies).

Deposit amount: RMB 3,000 is charged from sellers registered under the same business license.

Note: Sellers involved in special types such as overseas warehouses, key categories, or sellers who have repeatedly violated regulations may need to pay a higher amount of seller deposit. Please refer to the rule document for details. The specific implementation is subject to the platform notification.

2. How long does it take for the seller to pay the deposit?

According to the Shopee announcement, sellers need to go to the Seller Center to perform the following operations between December 1 and December 22, 2022:

1. Sellers who have not recharged the activity deposit: Please complete the seller deposit recharge during this period.

2. Sellers whose accounts do not have sufficient activity margin: Please complete the seller margin payment during this period.

3. Sellers whose accounts already have sufficient activity deposits: There is no need to recharge the seller deposit again. Starting from December 22, 2022, the activity deposit will be upgraded to the seller deposit by default.

The announcement stated that starting from December 22, 2022, for all stores of sellers who have not yet fully recharged the seller's deposit, the platform will assess the risk level based on the seller's performance and gradually remove the store's sales rights.

New sellers need to complete the information review by the audit department, successfully bind the payment account, and ensure that sufficient seller deposit has been recharged before the store can have the right to sell.

In general, Shopee officially announced that it will officially launch the Shopee seller deposit from December 1, 2022. So Shopee cross-border stores will collect deposits.
