Does the number of Amazon ratings mean sales? What is the relationship?

Once an Amazon product is sold, the cumulative sales will increase. Generally, for products with low sales, many consumers will not dare to buy them after seeing them. Does the Amazon rating mean sales?

Do Amazon ratings mean sales?

The relationship between the number of Amazon reviews and sales: Amazon sellers can analyze the average daily sales based on the number of buyer reviews on the listing.

1. Add the product that the seller refers to to the shopping cart and set the order quantity to the maximum quantity of 999. If the other party's inventory quantity is less than 999, the seller will be prompted with the available quantity. The seller can then know the current inventory quantity of the product.

Repeat the above steps the next day. After unifying the recorded data for one or two weeks, you can roughly know the daily sales volume of the product.

Also, based on your own operational objectives, consider whether such sales volume can meet the merchant's expectations. If so, you can make it your first choice.

Of course, this method still has drawbacks. If the seller's counterparty sets a maximum order quantity, this test method will fail. If this is the case, other methods can only be used to solve it.

2. Based on the product review data of the listing. Merchants who have opened stores on the Amazon platform know that it is really difficult to get consumer reviews.

For many products, even if 100 units are sold, they may not receive a single review. One big seller complained that a certain product sold 1,000 units but did not receive a single review.

The actual review rate is the same as what the big seller said, but considering that some merchants will fake reviews, this ratio is slightly lowered here. Assuming that there is one review for every 80 orders, when investigating a product, you only need to count the number of reviews for the product to preliminarily evaluate the sales volume of the product.

However, since the statistics and comments are presented from the time the product is launched on the shelves, the data from three years ago does not have much reference value for current operations.

When businesses are collecting review data, they can use the most recent three months or six months as a time node and only count the data within that period. Such statistical data can reflect the current sales situation and be closer to reality.

The number of Amazon ratings is not the sales volume. Amazon’s sales volume will have a special cumulative sales number here. If the sales volume is large, there will generally be relatively more reviews. Otherwise, the sales volume will look a bit fake.
