How to increase traffic on Shopee? Traffic diversion strategies shared

Shopee has a large customer base, with over 200 million app downloads. It can be said that its position in Southeast Asia is like that of Taobao in China. So how can Shopee increase its traffic?

Shopee traffic strategy:

1. Market selection

Cross-border e-commerce cannot avoid the rule of "70% product selection and 30% operation". Only when the product meets market demand and can satisfy customers' curiosity will customers become interested and pay for it.

Most of the platform's traffic is concentrated on hot-selling categories, with a small portion focusing on newer and more unique products.

The 5 products pinned to the top can increase exposure time by 4 hours. If these 5 products are placed on page 20 when they are put on the shelf, buyers need to turn 20 pages to find these 5 products. But if the seller manually pins them to the top, within 4 hours, these 5 products can be placed in the first 10 pages or even the first 5 pages.

Therefore, manual pinning is a method to increase product traffic weight, although the increased exposure time period is relatively short, and can only be set once every 4 hours. However, the manual pinning function can be set, and after 4 hours, the seller can pin 5 more products to the top.

3. Feed Posting

In Shopee’s mobile app, there is a Feed function, which is Shopee’s forum, similar to WeChat Moments.

Sellers can post product advertisements in the feed and share the hottest products in the store. In the feed, many buyers can see it. If the buyer is interested, they can click on the product picture posted by the seller and directly enter the link of the store.

4. Chat about promotion

Chat is not only a tool to answer customers’ questions, but also a channel to keep sellers and customers engaged. When a store launches new products or has a price reduction, sellers can use Chat to send messages to customers who have visited the store (Shopee Fans) to recall old customers.

5. Report on background activities

After joining Shopee, you should check the theme activities in the backstage every day. You can sign up for any activities related to your store or products. You can get platform marks by signing up for free shipping and cashback projects, which not only has weight in ranking, but also can attract buyers to click on the products.

In general, Shopee’s methods of increasing traffic include keeping new products updated, manually pinning products, posting in the feed, chatting about promotional activities, reporting backend activities, and optimizing products.
