What is the appropriate advertising rate on eBay? What are the fees eBay charges?

eBay is a relatively fast-growing cross-border e-commerce. There are actually quite a lot of merchants doing this. For merchants, they need to promote their stores after opening them. So what is an appropriate advertising rate on eBay? The following content will provide you with relevant introduction.

What is an appropriate advertising rate on eBay ?

Promoted Listings Standard (PLS) advertising charging method

PLS adopts a transaction-based charging method, as follows:

1. You can choose the advertising fee you want to pay for your listings participating in the PLS campaign - we call it the ad rate. You can choose an ad rate between 1% - 100% of the product's selling price.

2. The Suggested Ads Rate is calculated based on various factors, such as product attributes, seasonality, past performance, and current competition for each product. Based on the quality of the listing, its relevance to the buyer's search, the ad rate, and other factors, the PLS system determines which listings to display in the search results and where to display them.

3. You will only be charged if a buyer clicks on one of your ads and purchases the item within 30 days.

4. The final advertising fee paid is calculated based on the rate you pre-selected multiplied by the product transaction price.

5. The advertising fee will be displayed in the [payments] tab in the [Seller hub].

What fees does eBay charge?

Part 1: Basic expenses

1. Publication Fee

eBay sellers need to pay a certain listing fee to publish a listing, but sellers can get a certain amount of free listings every month, and the standards for different types of stores are also different. If the listings exceed the free listings, a fee of $0.3 will be charged for each listing. Some categories and products will not participate in the free part.

2. Transaction Fees

After successfully selling an item, the seller will be charged a certain transaction fee. eBay transaction fees are calculated based on the fees paid by the buyer, which includes product fees and logistics costs. If you don't have a store, the transaction fee for most items is only 10% of the total sales, but it can be as high as $750.

Note: For US websites, if the sales performance of an account drops below the standards eller, the transaction fee will be increased by a certain percentage!

Part 2: Additional costs

1. Subscription Fees

eBay stores are divided into basic stores, advanced stores and super stores, and different levels of stores charge different fees. There are two charging methods: monthly and annual. Different levels of stores have different monthly free logout times, log-in times and transaction fee ratios. However, the higher the level of the store, the more free logout times it has, and the lower the rates of other fees.

2. Functional fee

In terms of eBay publishing, some features can be upgraded, such as pre-listing, subtitles, bold title fonts, secondary classifications, etc.

This is all the content I have shared with you about eBay advertising rates. eBay merchants can go and learn about it. In addition, merchants still need to understand some related skills so that they can better run their own stores.
