Is Amazon SKU automatically generated? How to write it?

Amazon is a cross-border e-commerce platform, but when everyone joins Amazon, they find that it is difficult to operate this platform. Although the competition is not so fierce, cross-border e-commerce itself is difficult. Is Amazon SKU automatically generated?

1. Is Amazon SKU automatically generated?

1. Amazon SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) refers to the unit or inventory unit for measuring inventory in and out, which is a unique numeric or alphanumeric code assigned to a product.

2. SKU is mainly used to manage inventory by automatically tracking product information (including price, manufacturer, function, size, color, inventory location, etc.). In short, SKU helps sellers track sales to ensure the profitability of retail business.

3. SKU is composed of alphanumeric characters, usually 8-12 characters, each character corresponds to a unique feature of the product, such as product type, color, size, style, etc.

4. Each product corresponds to a unique SKU number. If a product has multiple variants, there will be multiple SKUs. For example, if a piece of clothing has 3 colors and 4 different sizes, there will be 12 different SKUs.

5. Like ASIN, SKU is also required. The difference is that ASIN code is automatically generated by Amazon, while SKU can be automatically generated by Amazon or customized. Professional sellers generally keep the SKU writing authority firmly in their own hands. More importantly, through scientific writing rules, sellers can better manage their stores.

2. How to write?

Amazon sellers write SKUs, which usually include the following information:

Product source/supplier, using two letters to identify the supplier.

Broad descriptors that help identify the type or broad category to which the product belongs.

Seasonal identifiers. If you sell seasonal products, you can choose to identify the specific season/year in your SKU.

A condition identifier, expressed using the components of a SKU.

Cost identifier, warehouse location, etc.

You can use other characters in your SKUs, which are useful when separating the parts of a composite SKU. So you can have a multi-part SKU system like: HA-PU-NO-13331-A1.

Everyone should be familiar with Amazon SKU. If you want to open a store on Amazon now, you actually need to pay more attention to some rules and some basic settings. Cross-border e-commerce is more difficult than domestic e-commerce, but the competition is also lower.
