Alibaba International Station issues a recall notice for retro floor lamps

In order to safeguard the rights and interests of platform users and reiterate Alibaba International Station's attention to the importance of product safety, Alibaba International Station will remove products that need to be recalled from the shelves.

The platform will publish information on recalled products from time to time based on product recall notices issued by domestic and overseas regulatory authorities, and remind merchants to comply with applicable laws, compliance requirements and recall rules in different markets.

Merchants must take appropriate actions on recalled products in a timely manner, including but not limited to immediately notifying all relevant buyers to stop using or selling the products, taking back and destroying the recalled products, and returning and refunding the products to buyers. Alibaba International Station reserves the right to impose any penalties on merchants who violate the rules in accordance with its platform rules.

Merchants should check the products and inventory they have posted on the platform based on the recall information below, and ensure that the relevant recalled products are no longer sold on Alibaba International Station. Any products that are substantially similar and may pose similar safety hazards should also be removed from the shelves.

The announcement shows that the risk description of the retro floor lamp product is: This product is considered to have a high fire risk. The instructions accompanying the product are not sufficient to ensure that the device can be safely installed and maintained. Therefore, the user may be at risk of overheating due to inadvertent use of the lamp.

In addition, the maximum wattage stated in the instructions (150W) was different from the wattage marked on the rating label (40W). The product also lacked some required documentation and markings. The product did not comply with the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.

At the same time, Alibaba International Station also issued a recall announcement for Svater 50-foot outdoor LED light string products and NICGIGA 11-port Gigabit PoE switch products.

Among them, the risk description of the Svater 50-foot outdoor LED light string product: This product has a moderate risk of electric shock because it does not have adequate electric shock protection during testing, and the creepage distance and clearance distance are not enough. The socket connector does not meet the minimum contact depth requirement of 3.0 mm, and the depth is only 2.2 mm.

The minimum creepage and clearance distances for reinforced insulation between live contact terminals and accessible surfaces of the lamp cap are 2.2 mm, based on a material PTI (Protective Tracking Index) < 600, with a minimum requirement of 3.0 mm clearance and 5.0 mm creepage distance. In addition, the product does not include an IP44 rating for outdoor use. The product does not comply with the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.

NICGIGA 11-port Gigabit PoE switch product risk description: This product presents a serious risk of electric shock. During testing, it was found that the ground wire in the provided IEC power cord was connected to the live terminal of the plug. When powered on, the device will not work, but the conductive casing will be live and consumers will receive an electric shock when touching the casing.

In addition, the fuse did not comply with BS1362 because the measured length was only 24.35mm, which is below the minimum requirement of 25mm. The end caps on the fuse were not securely fixed and the fuse was not provided with any granular filler. The instructions supplied with the product were considered inadequate because they did not contain enough information to ensure the correct and safe use of the device. The product did not comply with the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
